    Exchange Hosted services any suggestion??

Hi Guys, I need some advice here!!! We are a Telecoms company and of late we have introduced a new product line in the business (providing landline phones now going to mobile phone service) We now have a complete new section that will be dealing with Mobile product. The current infrastructure that we have is hosting this new product, the probem that we now have is, this section want to have a different domain inside the current domain and have a bit of trust being established between the two domains. The current domain is (example)XXX.bw and they now want their new email addresses to be yyy.bw but using the same infrastructure in terms of servers???I dont know where to start with all this can somebody assist

    thanks in advance

my brain is fried, so I prolly read this wrong, but just point the mx record for the new domain to your exchange server, then in exchange add the domain and set it as a primary address and managed by the server.

Re: Exchange Hosted services any suggestion??

Do you mean a second Active Directory domain within the existing setup or do you mean new domain as in Email domain?

If it is just email then your existing users can have both email addresses (one of them wil be primary).

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/268838

As long as you set our MX record to point to this server (get PTR records to point back too)

For what it is worth, I couldn't tell English wasn't your first language.

Re: Exchange Hosted services any suggestion??

Update guys on this request. I managed to create an MX record and can send email internally and externaly with the new email address of the new MX record. BUT.......(there is always a but) I cant seem to send email to this new email from external emails eg hotmail to this address I get Mail delivery failure error.

Any suggestion here.??? I have now set the new MX record as the primary but still it fails....

Re: Exchange Hosted services any suggestion??

In Exchange did you set the domain to be MANAGED by exchange.

You will need the MX record set at your domain registration as well.

     Hope this helps

     Thanks
