Backing up your PC is important, but NTBackup doesn't exactly do the best job and isn't exactly end user friendly. Well CompletePC in Vista is sure to change that.
CompletePC backups what it says it does, the complete PC. It is very easy to use; so easy your mom can do it. To launch the program click on the flag and go to All Programs, Maintenance, Backup and Restore Center. Click on Back up Computer.
The application will allow you to backup to a hard disk, or to a DVD-R/RW. If you select DVD-R/RW you should be aware that you will need more than one disc, even with dual layer media.
You will see the destination and the source drive(s). Confirm the backup and press Start Backup to begin.
Depending on the amount and number of drives you are backing up it can take a while. When done you will see files in the destination drive under WindowsImagebackup\COMPUTERNAME\Backup YYYY-MM-DD.
Notice the file type? :) VHD!! To restore you need to reboot from the install media and select Recovery Options and follow the instructions for a CompletePC Restore.
Should make backups mom-friendly!
