I don't normally write on 3rd party tools unless I find something that A) is extremely usefull and B) actually works. Previously I wrote about a freeware applicaiton called OWANotify which is a tray icon that monitors your OWA account. The Picture Attachments Wizard for Outlook is another one of these great tools that makes you think "Gee, why didn't they build that in to begin with?"
The Picture Attachments Wizard for Outlook allows you to view, save and manage pictures and file attachments sent to you via e-mail. It installs a small toolbar into Outlook (does not work with OE) from which you can manage attachments.
In my day to day work with TLA and other websites I send and recieve A LOT of attachments and saving them to disk is usually a pain. Using PAW you can easily grab all attachments in an e-mail and save them to disk with a single mouse click.
The other big draw for me is when family members send a pile of photos. Using PAW I can open up a filmstrip view, or run a slideshow right from Outlook without having to save them all to disk first (which isn't so hard anymore anyway).
Some of the other features include: - export every attachment in every message in the current mailbox folder - preview an image attachments as you add it to the e-mail - view the files metadata such as camera model, date picture taken, file size, etc - change the program you want to use to view individual pictures - delete unnecessary attachments of any kind from all or selected messages For less than $20 it is a steal and saves me a load of time but there is a 45-day free trial so you can check it out for yourself!
