R2 - File Server Resource Manager MMC - Storage Reports

Sponsor

The File Server Resource Manager includes an option to generate reports on file server storage. These reports can include information on disk usage and quotas, file screening and more...

Reports can be run at anytime or scheduled to run at specific times. You can run reports to locate duplicate files, understand storage activities, and analyze how storage systems are used.

To begin, right-click the Storage Reports Management node. You can choose to schedule a report generation, add/remove reports from the task list and generate reports immediatly.

By selecting the Schedule a New Report Task, you can create a report generation task. The Settings tab allows you to specify which folders to generate reports for, what information should be included in the report as well as the format for the report.

The Delivery tab allows us to specify an email recipient of the generated reports. These reports are also saved to C:\StorageReports\Scheduled.

Finally, the Schedule tab allows you to select a time to run generate the reports automatically. Click on Create Schedule to specify when the reports should be generated!

The Report Tasks you create will be listed in the center pane. You can right-click the task and choose to run it immediatley, or View/Modify the properties.

When you select to run the report generation immediatley, you will be prompted to wait and display the reports as soon as they are generated, or to run the report generation in the background and have them emailed for viewing at a later time.
